De Amerikaanse zanger Jason Derulo brengt met zijn nieuwe album ‘Nu King’ alweer zijn vijfde album uit. Zijn vorige album ‘Everything Is 4’ werd uitgebracht in 2015 en behaalde de Nederlandse Album Top 100.
‘Nu King’ bevat 27 tracks, waaronder Top 40 hits ‘Love Not War (The Tampa Beat)’ en ‘Swalla (feat. Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign)’. Ook zijn recent uitgebrachte single ‘Spicy Margarita’ staat op het album. Deze single bracht Jason samen met Michael Bublé uit en is een remake van Dean Martin’s ‘Sway’. Verder is hij voor de single ‘Down’ een samenwerking aangegaan met David Guetta.
In de afgelopen jaren is Jason ook uitgegroeid tot een sensatie op TikTok. Hij behoudt momenteel zijn positie in de top 20 van de meest gevolgde TikTok-accounts wereldwijd.
Op 28 februari is Jason Derulo in ons land, hij staat dan met zijn ‘Nu King Tour’ in Rotterdam Ahoy.
Jason over het album: “Nu King is the culmination of my career so far. It’s been nine years since my last full-length, and a lot has happened. I never stopped making music though. A lot of those songs didn’t have a proper home, so I made a place for them. The newer songs are just a piece of my life at the moment. Combining everything, the entire album has a cinematic feel. For the title, King is my son’s name. You can go further, and this is a crowning moment I’m really proud of. 2023 was a preparation year; 2024 is a year of celebrating all of the hard work I’ve put in and what I’ve built.”
